    Sufficient customer service is the life force of the business. You can offer sales and gifts to customers to attract them as many as possible, but unless you can make some of them to come back, your business won't bring you profit for long. And that is the direct job of good customer service. As well as serve them and leave them happy and satisfied enough to send positive feedback and customer reviews about your business among the others, who probably afterwards try your product or service for themselves and in their turn become repeat customers. In any case, customers will judge a company by what it does, not what it says.
